Abbey Gardens

On the top floor of a converted school, we completed an almost all-white redesign of an apartment, modernising the living spaces, creating an additional guest suite and a new music room with views of the grounds. Previously a one bed flat, the property was transformed into a two bed apartment along with a new music room.

The plan is ordered through the arrangement of storage units, the re-orientated kitchen now opens onto the living area, while low units and bookshelves between them create a degree of separation yet maintains there new, stronger connection. The guest bedroom features a platform the raised bed sits on, all finished in a bright blue wrap.

The general palette of white, linen, stone and pearl is minimal, with rare moments of colour. We sought to introduce a lively sense of texture and sparkle to each surface, ensuring that no item was ‘flat’.
